Claudio Baglioni and Angelina Jolie on Lampedusa

After
Claudio's appearance in St. Vincent he travelled immediately to
Lampedusa. There UN High Commissioner for Refugees, António
Guterres, expected him together with U.S. Hollywood star Angelina Jolie
on Sunday for an information program. There was an appearance together
at the monument "gateway to Europe" with Lampedusa's mayor de Rubeis.
The UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador Jolie (36) had previously made attention
in Turkey on the border with Syria on the lot of many people's,
escaping from the regime in Damascus, which shoots at civilians. Also
in Malta, the actress visited refugees on Sunday.
"Above all I want to express my deep appreciation for the people of
this island, which has taken over for so many years so many refugees
and migrants," said Guterres. The head of the UN High Commissioner for
Refugees (UNHCR) visited Lampedusa, before presenting the most recent
annual report of the UNHCR on Monday in Rome for the World Refugee Day.
Italy and primarily the small island of Lampedusa are reinforced the
point of contact since the beginning of the upheaval in North African
countries for tens of thousands of migrants and refugees. In the past
five months, the unrest in the countries on the other side of the
Mediterranean led to more than 43 000 people arrived on Italian shores,
of which over 33 000 on Lampedusa. About 130 kilometers from the
Tunisian coast, the only 20-square-foot island is for years for many
desperate boat people longed for the "Gateway to Europe".

Festival on Lampedusa. "Jolie told me that it is a worthy undertaking" Baglioni said.
"I hope now to have the opportunity to give her the entire documentation of the events of the past."

Wind music awards 2011 - Part 1
At
07.06.2011 the first part of the Wind music Awards 2011 was transmitted
at Italia1. Claudio was awarded for his World Tour 2010 - he sang the
song "Per il mondo". The second part of the Wind music Awards will be
transmitted at 14.06.2011 at Italia1. Then Claudio will sing "Nel blu
dipinto di blu"...

Lampedusa "Susiti" - 02./03./04.06.2011

From 02. to 04.06 in 2011, there has been a big event on Lampedusa with
many voices and many instruments - due to the recent dramatic events on
Lampedusa - organized by the Foundation O'Scià and Claudio
Baglioni together with the Associazione Nazionale Italiana Singers and
Artisi Amici, because the solidaraty of the Insolaner and gratitude to
the volunteers for the reception of the refugees.
The
event has started with a football match on 02.06. with the "Nazional
Italian Singers" vs. "Lampedusa Calcio". On Jun 3rd, there has been a
big concert with Claudio Baglioni and many other great Italian singers
at the port of Cala Pisana. Finally at 04.06. there was a series of
performances of "traveling artists" in various suggestive and symbolic
places of the island.

Claudio Baglioni took part at the commemoration of "Borsellino & Falcone"
Yesterday
in Palermo took place a commemoration in honour of the both from the
Mafia murdered judges "Paolo Borsellino" and "Giovanni Falcone" statt -
also Claudio took part. The event took place in front of the tree in
the Via Notarbartolo in Palermo. During the event Claudio sang "Strada
facendo" and finished the event with the "italian national anthem".

Here you can see an article with an interview from the magazine "Sorrisi e canzoni" as

In this article you can read amongst others that Claudio will release a
new album with new songs beginning next year. At the moment Claudio
works on two different projects - the first project deals with
electric- and synthesizer-sounds, the other project is about
acustic-music. In the next days he will decide, which of the projects
will find its way on the new album.
Furthermore at 17.05.2011, one day after his 60.birthday, a complete collection with all of his songs will be published.
